The 2015 Rogers Cup presented by
National Bank is a Tennis Tournament played on Outdoor Hard Courts. It was the
126th edition for men and the 114th edition for women of
the Canadian Open, and is part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 of the 2015
ATP World Tour, and of the WTA Premier 5 Tournaments of the 2015 WTA Tour, plus
is the 2015 US Open series event.
The men’s event was held at the
Uniprix Stadium in Montreal, from August 10 to August 16, and the Women event
at the Rexall Centre in Toronto, from August 10 to August 16. Second Seed Andy
Murray won the Men’s Singles title while Belinda Bencic won the Women Singles
Title. Andy Murray ended an eight match losing run against Novak Djokovic,
beating the world number one for the first time in two years to win the Rogers
Cup.
The British Number one’s 6-4, 4-6,
6-3 victory in three hours in Montreal earned him a fourth title of the year. A
first win over the Serbian since the 2013 Wimbledon final will be a huge boost
for Murray before the US Open in New York starts on 31 August. The Scot
dominated from the baseline as he claimed an 11th Masters title.
On the other hand, eighteen year
old Belinda Bencic won women Singles beating Simona Halep in final. Simona
retired in third round after losing three game points due to injury in leg. Men’s
doubles tournament is won by Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan. Women’s doubles is won
by Bethanie Mattek Sands and Lucie Safarova.
