Ferrari Sebastian Vettel leads from
the start to finish winning his fourth Singapore Grand Prix, in which Lewis
Hamilton was forced to retire due to faulty pedal. Sebastian wins in Singapore
for the fourth time to help secure Ferrari first double podium of the season. A
major security scare blighted Sebastian comfortable victory when a man ran onto
the track.
In an eventful race full of
incident, which saw Lewis Hamilton retire for the first time this season with
mechanical problems the intruder wandered along the circuit with the cars
accelerating 180mph. Moments later the man jumped back over the barrier but organizers
here will face serious questions about how security could be breached so
easily. Earlier in China this year, the same incident took place.
Vettel led from pole position to
take his third victory of the season, one which brings him back into contention
for the championship, now 49 points behind Hamilton. The world champion retired
midway through allowing fourth place finisher Nico Rosberg to narrow the gap to
41 points. Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen took second and third place
while both McLarens failed to finish with gearbox problems.
This superb drive moved Vettel onto
42 victories, one clear of Ayrton Senna in all-time list. Mercedes had not
managed to come up with an overnight fix to their tyre troubles, losing ground
to the Ferraris and Red Bulls. The next race will held in Japan on 27th
September 2015. Last year, Japan Formula one was won by Lewis Hamilton.
