Brazil won U-17 Football World Cup 2019

The final day at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Brazil 2019 came to a close with an increasingly familiar scene, Brazil raising the trophy aloft as World Champions.

A Seleção collected their fourth U-17 crown after an emotional 2-1 triumph over Mexico in the final at Brasilia's Estadio Bezerrao. The Brazilians have now moved within one title of equalling record-holders Nigeria, though this was their first since 2003. It also may have been the sweetest, given that the South Americans became only the second team to top the competition as hosts – the first, interestingly enough, was Mexico eight years ago.

For the second straight match, Lazaro was Brazil's super sub. On Thursday he capped his side's comeback against France in the semi-final by bagging the winning goal in the 89th minute. On Sunday the No20 left it even later. Brazil fell behind in the 66th minute when Bryan Gonzalez beat Adidas Golden Glove winner Matheus Donelli with a superbly-directed header. A Kaio Jorge penalty goal brought Brazil roaring back 18 minutes later, and Lazaro's volleyed, close-range strike three minutes into second-half stoppage time sealed the trophy for the hosts.

In the third-place match, France rode Arnaud Kalimuendo-Muinga's hat-trick to victory over European rivals the Netherlands. Both teams benefitted from the reintroduction of their captains, who missed their respective semi-finals. Oranje field general Kenneth Taylor assisted the opening goal of the match, flicking a pass over the French defense to play Mohamed Taabouni in on goal. France captain Lucien Agoume countered with an incisive through ball seven minutes later, which eventually led to Kalimuendo-Muinga's first goal. The Paris Saint-Germain starlet scored two more in the second period en route to Les Bleuets' bronze medal finish.

Lewis Hamilton wins United States Grand Prix

Ferrari Sebastian Vettel led the opening five laps of the 2017 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, but it was Mercedes Lewis Hamilton who went to dominate the race, winning by 10 seconds from his title rival, whose team mate Kimi Raikkonen clinched third after a last lap pass on him by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was deemed illegal. The result means Mercedes secure the 2017 constructors’ crown, but the drivers’ battle goes on to next weekend’s round in Mexico.

A five-second time penalty for leaving the track while passing Raikkonen meant the fans’ Driver of the Day Verstappen, who started 16th, lost out on the podium by just 0.9s, having seen his team mate Daniel Ricciardo retire early on with engine issues. Valtteri Bottas ended up fifth in the sister Mercedes, followed by the Force India’s of Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez, split by Renault new boy Carlos Sainz, who like Verstappen saw his team mate, Nico Hulkenberg, retire. Williams’ Felipe Massa and Toro Rosso returnee Daniil Kvyat completed the top ten, the latter’s rookie team mate Brendon Hartley taking the flag 13th on his F1 debut.

Hamilton had a scare on the 20th lap as he emerged from what transpired to be his sole pit stop, and Vettel, who had stopped three laps earlier, had wiped out a 4.4s deficit and was almost right on him. Hamilton wasn’t amused and rebuked his team, but at the same time he quickly pulled away again, and when Vettel had to stop again on the 39th lap, it was also soon clear that Mercedes would not need to do the same.

Though Hamilton still needs nine points to secure the drivers’ title – just fifth place in Mexico next weekend will be enough – Mercedes cemented the constructors’ championship, and now have 575 points to Ferrari’s 428, Red Bull’s 315 and Force India’s 159. Renault have moved back in front of Haas and to within five points of Toro Rosso in the fight for sixth place.

Lewis Hamilton Wins Mexico Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton took another seven points out of Nico Rosberg’s championship lead with a superb win over his Mercedes team mate in the Formula 1 Gran Premio de Mexico 2016. Hamilton, who now trails by 19 points with two rounds remaining, was 8.3s clear at the chequered flag, with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel completing the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez podium, despite finishing fourth on the road.

Vettel was eventually given third place after Verstappen was penalized post-race for an incident on the 68th lap when the Dutchman ran wide in Turn 1 and then over the grass in Turn 2 to stay ahead of the Ferrari - a move Hamilton had already performed there on his own while leading on the opening lap, thanks to a glazed brake. Verstappen was told by Red Bull to give up the place but chose not to, and his intransigence enabled Ricciardo to close on to Vettel’s tail.

Verstappen had always been in podium contention, but it was Vettel who took over the lead after Rosberg pitted to switch from softs to mediums on the 14th lap and Hamilton did likewise on the 17th. The Ferrari then ran another remarkable 15 laps before the former champion finally pitted for mediums on the 32nd. Verstappen himself had had an opportunistic go at Rosberg on the 49th lap when the German had lost time going over a kerb, and as the Red Bull got out of shape at the apex Rosberg got the place back, and the incident enabled a lapped Jenson Button in the McLaren to make his own opportunistic pass on Carlos Sainz’s Toro Rosso.

Renault’s Kevin Magnussen, Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat, Gutierrez, Haas’s Romain Grosjean and Manor’s Esteban Ocon completed the finishers. Both Toro Rosso drivers were given five-second penalties, Sainz for easing Alonso off track on lap one, Kvyat for going off-track to gain advantage over Grosjean. Hamilton’s 51st career victory thus saw him tie Alain Prost for second in the all-time stakes, but with two races left Rosberg’s 19-point standings lead means he is still on target for the crown even if he finishes second to his team mate in both of them.

Nico Rosberg won Mexico Grand Prix

The World Championship may have gone to Mercedes Lewis Hamilton but Nico Rosberg at least had the satisfaction of making F1 memorable return to Mexico with a pole to checkered flag win on Sunday. This takes Nico Rosberg to second position this year and increases his margin of points from Ferrari Sebastian Vettel.

Hamilton finished second, with Valtteri Bottas completing the podiums for Williams. Rosberg who dominated practice and qualifying held off Hamilton after a Vettel crash saw the safety car deployed on lap 53 of 71. A late mistake in a similar situation in the previous round last Sunday had seen Hamilton win the United States Grand Prix to wrap up his second straight title.

But Nico Rosberg was clearly determined to avoid a repetition and it was errors by Hamilton which left him unable to claim his fourth straight win. It has also cost him chance to equal the record wins for an F1 season of 13, with 10 under his belt but only two rounds to go in 2015 in Brazil and Abu Dhabi. The Red Bull pair of Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo drove fine races for fourth and fifth.

Home hero Sergio Perez finished eighth for Force India. Raucous Scenes greeted the drivers at the end of an enthralling race, enlivened by Vettel collision into a barrier the four time champion walking away unscathed. The next race will held in Brazil on 15^th November 2015.

United States Grand Prix

Mercedes Lewis Hamilton won his third Formula 1 World Championship to become only the second British Driver after Sir Jackie Stewart to achieve the feat. Hamilton won a thrilling United States Grand Prix to seal the driver’s title with his 10^th victory of 2015. It was an exciting climax to a race of fluctuating fortunes, lead changes and superb racing in changing conditions.

Ferrari Sebastian Vettel could have kept the race open until Mexico next weekend had he finished second, but could manage only third place behind Mercedes Nico Rosberg. Hamilton started from second on the grid behind Rosberg and taking the lead at the first corner, forcing his teammate wide in the process and giving the Red Bulls of Daniil Kvyat and Daniel Ricciardo the chance to demote Rosberg to fourth.

On a wet track on treaded intermediate tyres, the Red Bulls were faster than the Mercedes and Hamilton faced an initial attack from Kvyat. The top four were locked together for the first 19 laps as Rosberg moved into second, only for Ricciardo to pass him and then Hamilton take the lead. At last, Kvyat crash added a final twist and Hamilton sealed a title for which he has appeared on course since the beginning of the season.

Only three races are left in this season and Lewis Hamilton is already champion of this season. This is his consecutive second Championship win and overall third. Next race will held in Mexico on 2^nd November 2015. Lewis Hamilton point tally is 327 points. Second Position is hold by Sebastian Vettel with 251 Points and third by Nico Rosberg with 247 Points. This season is still interesting as fight for second position will be exciting to watch.

CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015

CONCACAF Gold Cup is the main association football competition of the men’s national football teams governed by CONCACAF, determining the regional champion of North America, Central America, and the Caribbean. The tournament is won by Mexico this year beating Jamaica by 3-1 in the final. This was the tenth time Mexico won this title.

The Gold cup is held every two years. Beginning in 2015, the winners of two successive gold cups will face each other in a playoff to determine the CONCACAF entrant to the next Confederations Cup. If the same team has won the Gold Cup on both relevant occasions, there will be no playoff and that team will automatically qualify for the Confederations Cup. This time playoff will be played between 2013 champion USA and 2015 champion Mexico.

Mexico scored the maximum 16 goals in the tournament. Clint Dempsey from USA remained top scorer of the tournament with 7 goals. In 1990, CONCACAF renamed the CONCACAF championship as the CONCACAF Gold Cup, with the USA hosting the first competition in 1991. The host country was the inaugural champion of the eight team tournament. Mexico dominated the remainder of the decade winning three consecutive CONCACAF Gold cup titles in 1993, 1996 and 1998.

Since the formation of the Gold Cup in 1991, the CONCACAF Championship has been won seven times by Mexico, five times by United States, and once by Canada. Runners-up include Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, and Jamaica.
