Bayern Munich won UEFA Champions League 2020

Bayern Munich won the UEFA Champions League for the sixth time after beating first-time finalists Paris-Saint-Germain 1-0 in a spectacular-less final at the Estadio da Luz, Lisbon. 

In front of just a few hundred people, including the coronavirus-checked players and officials, it was the Paris-born Kingsley Coman who scored the only goal of the match as the Bavarians won the premier competition after seven years.

After a feisty first half involving shots off the woodwork for Robert Lewandowski and two saves from Manuel Neuer against Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, Coman scored the only goal of the game when he glanced home a cross from Joshua Kimmich in the 59th minute.

PSG substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting missed two late opportunities to level for the French side, who are still waiting to win their first Champions League title after billions of euros of investment from the Qatar royal family.

 

With this win, Bayern Munich is the first side in European Cup/Champions League history to win 100 percent of their games in a single campaign en route to lifting the trophy (11 wins). Bayern joins deposed champion Liverpool as six-time champions of Europe, only behind AC Milan (7) and Real Madrid (13).

International Champions Cup

International Champions Cup is an annual club association football friendly exhibition competition. It is the first to be played separately in Australia, China and United States. The Australian edition of the tournament featured three teams played across three matches at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Real Madrid was the first club to announce their involvement.

Manchester city and Roma were later confirmed to take part in the Australian Tournament. The Chinese edition of the tournament had featured Real Madrid, Milan and Inter Milan playing a total of three matches in different cities. The North American edition of the tournament had featured 10 teams but some games will be played in Mexico, Canada, Italy and England.

Each team involved in the US edition will play four games, except the three United States based teams that will only play two games. 2014 International Champions Cup winners Manchester United were the first team to confirm their involvement in US Edition. The Australian Edition of 2015 is won by Real Madrid which is their second title.

The China Edition of ICC is won by Real Madrid which is their third title. Paris Saint Germain won the US Edition of ICC which is their first title. One match during the 2014 tournament set all time record for attendance at a soccer game in the United States. The new record of 109,318 spectators was set at the match between Manchester United and Real Madrid in University of Michigan Stadium.
